Lessons from those whom you least expect

DANCE LIKE NOBODY IS WATCHING

We are highly committed to offering world-class services

Our four-year-old granddaughter has been taking dance lessons since she was 2….

She has progressed significantly since her first recital. On that one, she came out confidently but once the performance began sat down and watched her classmates-much to the chagrin of her parents. Since then, she has become passionate about dancing.

She recently came for an overnight visit and chose McDonald’s as the restaurant for a late lunch. After ordering, we settled into a nearly empty dining area.

Background music was being played while we were eating.  A song came on and she started bobbing her head and moving her shoulders to the beat.

She then announced that she was going to dance and proceeded to an open area, facing away from us, and began her routine. In sync with the music, she did toe taps, shimmies, side steps, and other dance moves with wonderful grace and joy. Amma and I were amazed.

When the song was over, she sat down, very happy, and finished her meal. When we left, we met one of the other customers who was very complimentary of her dancing.

The experience reminded me of this piece of advice:  “Find your passion and always do your best, even when no one (or hardly anyone) is watching.”

It’s always amazing to me when children teach us or remind us of life lessons.  Maybe we should listen more when they do and say things.
